Day 091 Judges 6-7
Welcome to Day 091. Midian is oppressing Israel. The people are desperate. And God calls Gideon to lead them.
But Gideon is terrified. "I'm the least in my family," he says. "How can I save Israel?" He even asks God for signs—multiple times—because he's so uncertain.
God doesn't shame him. God doesn't reject him. God works with his fear. "I will be with you," God says. That's the promise. Not that Gideon is strong. Not that victory is guaranteed by strategy. But that God is with him.
Then God does something unexpected. Gideon gathers 32,000 soldiers. But God says it's too many. "If they win, they'll think it's their own strength," God explains. "Reduce the army."
By the end, Gideon has 300 men. Against thousands of Midianites. It's impossible. AND That's the point!
With 300 men, torches, and trumpets—no swords, no strategy—Gideon defeats the Midianite army. It's not a military victory. It's a miracle.
The Heartbeat: God works through weakness so that His power is undeniable. He doesn't need our strength. He needs our willingness and our faith. When we're weak, He's strong.
Heart-Check: What "impossible" situation are you facing? Can you trust that God's strength is enough?
