MONTH 10 (OCTOBER)
DAYS 274–304

DAYS 274–304 | LUKE, MATTHEW, JOHN, MARK

October Covers Days 274–304 of the HD365 Chronological Bible Reading Plan

Welcome to Month 10 of the Heart Dive 365 Chronological Bible Reading Plan! This October, Days 274-304, we close the book on the Old Testament prophets and open the Gospels. God had been quiet for about 400 years. Then, in a small town, He began speaking again to an old priest and a young girl. And when He spoke, He sent a Person: the Word made flesh.

Over these 31 days, we walk with Jesus in the order things happened. We meet Him before the world began, watch Him grow up in a real family, and follow Him onto dusty roads where He heals, teaches, and keeps getting into trouble with the religious leaders. Along the way, one question keeps coming up: what is God really like? This month answers it with a face. Jesus doesn't hide the Father. He shows us exactly who He is.

Days 274-278: The Promise Arrives

John starts before Genesis: "In the beginning was the Word." Matthew gives us a family tree full of kings, nobodies, and a few messes, proof that God kept His promise one generation at a time. Luke takes us to shepherds on the night shift who hear "good news of great joy that will be for all the people." Wise men from far away bow before a little boy while a jealous king plots against Him. Then the heavens tear open at Jesus's baptism, and the Father says out loud, "You are my beloved Son." Jesus hadn't done a single miracle yet. The Father's love came first. Right after, Jesus walks into the wilderness and stands firm where Adam fell.

Days 279-284: Jesus Shows Up Where We Least Expect

His first miracle happens at a wedding party. He has a late-night talk with a religious teacher who needs to be born again, and a midday conversation with a Samaritan woman everyone else avoided. He touches a man with leprosy when nobody touched lepers. He tells a man who had been stuck for 38 years to get up and walk. On a hillside, He preaches the Sermon on the Mount and turns our idea of "blessed" upside down. Over and over, His power bends down toward the hurting. "I desire mercy, and not sacrifice."

Days 285-295: The Kingdom in Stories and Storms

Jesus invites the weary to come to Him for rest. He teaches us to pray to a Father who loves to give. He tells stories about seeds and soil, and then He calms a storm with a word. He frees a man no chains could hold, heals a woman who reached for His clothes, and takes a little girl by the hand to raise her up. He feeds five thousand with a boy's lunch and walks on the water. Then He asks the biggest question of all: "Who do you say that I am?" Peter answers correctly, then learns that the road to the crown runs through a cross. On a mountain, Jesus shines with glory. In the valley below, a desperate dad prays, "I believe; help my unbelief!" And Jesus tells about a shepherd who leaves ninety-nine sheep to go find one.

Days 296-304: Who Is This Man?

Things heat up. At the Feast of Booths, Jesus invites the thirsty to come and drink, and He refuses to condemn a woman caught in sin. Then He says, "Before Abraham was, I am," and the crowd reaches for stones. He calls Himself the Good Shepherd who lays down His life, and He promises that no one can snatch us out of His hand. He tells about a Samaritan who stopped, a father who ran, and a rich man who never noticed the hungry man at his gate. He stands at Lazarus's tomb and weeps, and then He calls a dead man out by name. We end the month with His own mission statement: "The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

What We Learn About God's Heart

This month, look for the Father in the Son. God is holy, and He does not wink at sin. He is also tender in ways that will catch you off guard. He runs toward prodigals. He weeps with the grieving. He counts the hairs on your head. He keeps promises across centuries, and He has a soft spot for outsiders, children, widows, and the people the crowd tried to quiet. If you have ever wondered whether God sees you, October is your month.

How to Use This Month

Each day below includes the reading, a short summary, God's heartbeats (His Character, His Desire, His Promise, and a Glimpse of Jesus), a Heart Check, free audio through Manna, and video teachings. Read it slowly. Sit with the questions. Bring your real life to the page, because Jesus kept meeting real people right where they were.

So grab your Bible and your coffee, friend. Jesus is about to walk onto the page.
