Day 333 Bible Study 1 Corinthians 1-4
Day 333 Bible Study 1 Corinthians 1-4
Welcome to Day 333! The Corinthian church is fighting over which preacher they like best, acting more like fan clubs than one family, and Paul isn’t having any of it. He redirects their eyes to something far more important than which teacher has the better delivery: the cross.
Heart Dive has partnered with the Manna app to make HD365 even easier to follow. 1 Corinthians 1-4: The Cross Over Celebrity
Paul addresses a church splitting into factions, some claiming loyalty to Paul, others to Apollos, others to Peter, as if the gospel were a popularity contest between preachers. His response levels the whole argument: “Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you?” He explains that the message of the cross sounds foolish to people who are perishing, but to those being saved, it’s the very power of God. God deliberately chose what the world calls foolish and weak to shame what the world calls wise and strong, so that no one could boast in anything except the Lord. Paul reminds them he didn’t come preaching with impressive words or clever wisdom. He came determined to know nothing among them except Jesus Christ and Him crucified, so their faith wouldn’t rest on human cleverness, but on the power of God.
Paul explains that real spiritual wisdom isn’t something the world’s rulers could understand, it’s revealed by the Spirit to those who have the Spirit, giving believers access to “the mind of Christ.” He compares the Corinthians to the foundation of a building: Jesus Christ is the only foundation that matters, and everyone building on top of Him will eventually have their work tested by fire, whether it was built with gold and silver or cheap wood and straw. He reminds them plainly, “Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” The wisdom of this world, he says, is foolishness to God, so nobody should boast in human leaders. Paul describes apostles like himself as fools for Christ’s sake, servants and stewards entrusted with the mysteries of God, not celebrities to be ranked and compared.
- God’s Character: He Chooses the Foolish to Shame the Wise. God deliberately bypasses worldly wisdom and power, choosing what looks foolish and weak to display His own strength (1 Cor 1:27-29).
- God’s Desire: Unity Around Christ, Not Competing Loyalties. Paul’s whole argument is aimed at dismantling factions, because Christ was never meant to be divided between competing camps (1 Cor 1:10-13).
- God’s Promise: A Foundation That Cannot Be Shaken. Jesus Christ is the one foundation nothing else can replace, and everything built on Him will ultimately be tested and proven (1 Cor 3:11-13).
- Glimpse of Jesus: Christ Crucified, the Power and Wisdom of God. What looks like foolishness and weakness to the world is actually the power and wisdom of God on full display (1 Cor 1:23-24).
The Heartbeat:
God chooses the foolish and weak things of the world to display His power, building His church not on celebrity leaders but on the one unshakable foundation of Christ crucified.
Heart Check:
- The Corinthians were ranking preachers against each other instead of staying unified around Christ. Is there a leader, teacher, or influencer you’ve started following with more loyalty than you give to Jesus Himself?
- Paul says the message of the cross looks foolish to people who are perishing, but it’s the power of God to those being saved. Have you let the fear of looking foolish keep you from sharing something true about your faith?

Heart Dive 365 uses the same Bible reading plan across multiple years, but each year offers a different teaching style and pace. Choose the phase that fits where you are right now.
✨ One Hub. Everything You Need. Every Daily Blog Post includes all three phases on this single page—videos, audio, PDFs, study notes—so you never have to leave to find what you're looking for. (This comprehensive resource is free thanks to our Heartkeepers community.)
Where are the notes?
Understanding Our Terminology
What are "Notes"? We use this word for three different types of study materials:
- Bible Journaling Pages: PDF copies of Kanoe and Holly's Bible pages with their personal journaling alongside Scripture. Kanoe's notes are available for the entire Bonus Content year and most of Phase One. On days Kanoe took a full Sabbath, Holly's notes cover those passages instead.
- Heart Check PDFs: Chapter summaries, conversational commentary, reflection questions, Deep Dive questions, and guided closing prayers.
- Heartbeat of God PDFs: Deep theological breakdowns exploring God's character, attributes, and desires through Scripture.
- Heart Work PDFs: Practical discipleship challenges and application exercises for personal growth or small group discussion.
One More Thing: All of this was created at significant cost, but is now available completely free thanks to our Heartkeeper community.

We hope you've enjoyed the Bonus Year with Kanoe and Phase One of Heart Dive 365.
If you're looking for Phase 2, aka The Heartbeat of God, or Phase 3 Heart Work PDFs, we're currently doing a third walk through the Bible at a more sustainable pace. We're currently taking a sabbatical, so we can honor both the season of life we're in and the depth these passages deserve.
Phase 2 and Phase 3 will make their way to the Hub as we complete them. This could take a few weeks or a few years, and we're okay with that. Good things take time.
