Day 114 Psalms 43-45, 49, 84-85, 87

Welcome to Day 114. Today's psalms were not written by David. They come from the Sons of Korah, a guild of Levitical singers appointed to serve in the Jerusalem temple. These are their songs, and they cover the full range of what it means to seek God: longing, lament, celebration, wisdom, and worship.

Psalms 42 and 43 open the collection as a single poem in two parts: (1) a soul crying out from a distance and (2) asking the same question three times: "Why are you cast down, O my soul?"

Psalm 44 shifts to a community lament, the whole congregation crying out together after a national defeat.

Psalm 45 breaks the pattern entirely with a royal wedding song that carries a messianic thread running underneath the celebration.

Psalm 49 steps into wisdom territory, asking what wealth is actually worth when death comes for everyone, then answering that only God can ransom a soul.

Psalms 84, 85, and 87 close the day with pilgrimage praise, a prayer for national restoration, and a vision of Zion as the mother city of all nations.

The Heartbeat: Across all six psalms, one thing is constant: the Sons of Korah called Him "the living God." Not a distant deity. Not a theological concept. The one who is actively, presently alive. Even when He felt silent, even in the lament, even at the graveside. That conviction is what held them.

Before Heart Dive

Our Foundation: In 2023, Kanoe took the first dive. It began as a raw, real-time experimental Bible study in consistency; a commitment to walk through the Word chronologically and see what happened when we showed up for God every day.

This was where Heart Dive was birthed, not as a ministry but as a personal call to obedience. Kanoe didn't intend for it to catch fire and grow beyond her "junk journaling" of #NOTESandHUES.

Yet it was there that she found her rhythm, testing the waters of daily video commentary and discovering a community of "Heart Divers" hungry for more than a surface-level reading.

These early reflections may contain doctrinal or technical errors. We ask for your grace as you listen, and always encourage you to study the Word for yourself.

Phase 3: From Knowledge to Action


Phases 1 and 2 have filled your head with God's truth. Phase 3 is about filling your heart and hands. The Heart Work PDFs aren't just for reflection. They're invitations to transformation.


Now it's time to get real. Share your heart with others. Iron sharpens iron, and community accelerates growth. Phase 3 challenges you in three ways:

  • Personal Obedience (what is God asking you to change?),
  • Relational Grace (who needs your forgiveness or encouragement?)
  • Missional Movement (where is God asking you to step out in faith?).


This is faith in action—head knowledge becoming lived reality.
