Welcome to Day 089. Joshua is dead. A new generation is rising. And they're making a fatal mistake. [Click here to hear our introduction to the book of Judges]

Instead of driving out all the Canaanites as God commanded, they decided to make them servants. It seems practical and efficient. Why fight harder when you can just manage the people you've conquered?

But they start worshiping the gods of the Canaanites. They start adopting their practices. Slowly, almost without noticing, Israel becomes like the people they were supposed to stay separate from.

The book of Judges opens with this: "And the people of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and forgot the Lord their God."

How did it happen? One compromise at a time. One small unfaithfulness that led to another. A tolerance that turned into adoption.

It's a pattern we'll see again and again: God provides, Israel forgets, they turn away, God calls them back.

The Heartbeat: Small compromises have big consequences. When we tolerate what God says to reject, we open a door that's hard to close. Faithfulness isn't built in big dramatic moments; it's built in small daily choices.

Heart-Check: Where are you tolerating something God is asking you to fully reject? What small compromise might be opening a bigger door?

Before Heart Dive

Our Foundation: In 2023, Kanoe took the first dive. It began as a raw, real-time experimental Bible study in consistency; a commitment to walk through the Word chronologically and see what happened when we showed up for God every day.

This was where Heart Dive was birthed, not as a ministry but as a personal call to obedience. Kanoe didn't intend for it to catch fire and grow beyond her "junk journaling" of #NOTESandHUES.

Yet, it was where she found her rhythm, testing the waters of daily video commentary and discovering a community of "Heart Divers" hungry for more than just a surface-level reading.

These early reflections may contain doctrinal or technical errors. We ask for your grace as you listen, and always encourage you to study the Word for yourself.

Phase One (2024)

If you have been with us since the beginning, you know it has just been me, Kanoe -- day by day, lesson by lesson, for over 450 lessons straight.

I created every single one of these lessons in 2023 and again in 2024 up to Day 88.

Just me, my Bible, and a whole lot of coffee. And I will be honest with you -- my arms got tired. Like Moses in the desert, there came a point where I just could not hold them up by myself anymore.


And then God sent me an Aaron.

Starting at lesson 89, you are going to start seeing a new name alongside mine -- Holly. She did not just show up and offer to help. She showed up and held up my arms. She has been in the Word right alongside me, studying these same passages, and God has given her a gift for taking what lives in your head and moving it all the way down into your hands.

She is now my partner in this ministry. And I could not be more grateful.
