Day 081 Deuteronomy 32-34, Psalm 91
Welcome to Day 081. Moses sings. It's not a happy song because it's a warning and a reminder. He sings about God's faithfulness to Israel and about what happens when they turn away.
Then Moses blesses each tribe individually. He's not just blessing them because he's speaking destiny over them. He's setting them up for the future. Each tribe gets a specific blessing that matches who they are and what they'll become.
Finally, Moses goes up Mount Nebo to see the Promised Land. He can see it all; the land God promised him he'd never enter. And then he dies. The text says his eye was not dim and his strength had not failed. He was still sharp at 120 years old, but his time was done.
The people grieve for thirty days. There's never been another prophet like Moses. Someone who knew God face-to-face.
Psalm 91 (which appears here in some readings) offers comfort... whoever dwells in God's shelter finds safety and rest.
The Heartbeat: God is faithful to His promises, even when we don't live to see them fulfilled. Moses didn't enter the Promised Land, but his faithfulness shaped a nation. His legacy continues. God's purposes are bigger than anyone's desires.
Heart-Check: What legacy are you building? What will remain after you're gone that points people toward God?
