Day 041 Exodus 33-35
Welcome to Day 041. Despite their rebellion, God doesn't abandon Israel. Moses encounters God again, and something beautiful happens.
Moses asks to see God's glory. God agrees; however, he says no one can see His face and live. So God hides Moses in a cleft of a rock and passes by, allowing Moses to see His back. It's an intimate moment where God reveals Himself as merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love.
God renews His covenant with Israel. The relationship is restored. And Israel responds by making offerings that are not forced but are willing and generous for the Tabernacle.
The people give so much that Moses has to tell them to stop. Their generosity in response to God's forgiveness is overflowing.
The Heartbeat: God's forgiveness is complete and restores the relationship. When we've failed, when we've broken covenant, He offers a way back. His mercy isn't begrudging. His mercy is generous and eager to restore. Our response to His forgiveness should be grateful generosity.
Heart-Check: How have you experienced God's forgiveness? What does grateful generosity look like in your life?
