Day 020 Genesis 25-26
Welcome to Day 020. Abraham is gone, and now we follow Isaac. Isaac is faithful, but he’s also human. He lies about his wife Rebekah, just as his father Abraham lied about Sarah.
We also meet Jacob and Esau, twins born with tension between them from the beginning. Esau is the firstborn, yet God tells Rebekah that “the older will serve the younger.” This reverses everything the culture expected.
Despite Isaac’s mistakes and the family’s dysfunction, God’s purposes move forward. His promises don’t depend on our perfection.
The Heartbeat: God’s plans are not thwarted by human weakness or failure. He works through broken people, flawed families, and complicated circumstances. His faithfulness isn’t contingent on our faithfulness.
Heart-Check: Where have you felt disqualified by your failures? God’s purposes for you don’t depend on your perfection.
