Isaiah 18–22: Political Alliances, False Security, and God’s Sovereignty
Isaiah speaks about Cush, Egypt, Babylon, Edom, Arabia, and Jerusalem during a period of international unrest. Jerusalem prepares its walls and water supply for attack but fails to look to the God who formed the city.
The nations were seeking alliances as Assyria expanded. Isaiah teaches that political strategy without trust in God gives false security, and the removal of Shebna shows that public authority remains accountable to God.
- God is Sovereign Over History: He directs the futures of nations, cities, and rulers during Assyria’s expansion.
- God Desires Dependence on Him: He exposes political alliances and military preparations that ignore the One who formed Jerusalem.
- God Promises to Hold Leaders Accountable: The removal of Shebna and appointment of Eliakim show that authority is entrusted by God.

God is the Rock of Ages who keeps our hearts in perfect peace while the kingdoms of this world shake and fall.

Understanding Our Terminology
What are "Notes"? We use this word for three different types of study materials:
- Bible Journaling Pages: PDF copies of Kanoe and Holly's Bible pages with their personal journaling alongside Scripture. Kanoe's notes are available for the entire Bonus Content year and most of Phase One. On days Kanoe took a full Sabbath, Holly's notes cover those passages instead.
- Heart Check PDFs: Chapter summaries, conversational commentary, reflection questions, Deep Dive questions, and guided closing prayers.
- Heartbeat of God PDFs: Deep theological breakdowns exploring God's character, attributes, and desires through Scripture.
- Heart Work PDFs: Practical discipleship challenges and application exercises for personal growth or small group discussion.
One More Thing: All of this was created at significant cost, but is now available completely free thanks to our Heartkeeper community.

Designed for personal reflection with an emphasis on how to seek the Heart of God so you can know Him and love Him because the GOD of the Old Testament is the same GOD of the New Testament.

Production Style: Slower-paced. Theological.

Production Style: Practical. Action-oriented. Designed for both personal transformation and small group discipleship. "Let the Word move from your mind to your heart, and from your heart to your hands."
