Day 019 Genesis 22-24
Welcome to Day 019. Today, we encounter one of Scripture’s most difficult passages—God asking Abraham to sacrifice his only son, Isaac.
This isn’t a test of whether Abraham loves God. This is a test of whether Abraham trusts God completely. Abraham has waited decades for Isaac. Isaac is his future, his legacy, his joy. And God asks him to let it go.
Abraham goes up that mountain, willing to do it. And at the last moment, God stops him. “Now I know you fear me,” God says. And He provides a ram in Isaac’s place.
The Heartbeat: God asks for absolute surrender because He deserves absolute trust. He doesn’t need our sacrifice—He wants our faith. When we’re willing to give Him what we hold most dear, we discover that He provides abundantly and His purposes are always good.
Heart-Check: What are you holding too tightly? What would radical surrender look like in your life?
