Day 018 Genesis 19-21
Welcome to Day 018. The tone shifts dramatically today. God judges Sodom for its rebellion, yet He rescues Lot because of His covenant with Abraham.
This is a hard passage. God’s judgment is real and swift. But notice: even in judgment, God shows mercy. Lot is saved. His daughters are saved. God doesn’t destroy indiscriminately.
And then comes the joy: Sarah, who laughed at God’s promise because it seemed impossible, gives birth to Isaac. The impossible becomes real.
The Heartbeat: God is both just and merciful. He judges sin, but He also saves those who belong to Him. His judgment isn’t cruel—it’s the necessary consequence of rebellion. His mercy is the undeserved gift He gives freely.
Heart-Check: Where do you struggle with God’s justice? Can you trust that His ways are both loving and righteous, even when you don’t understand them?
