Welcome to Day 008 Job 17-20. Today, Job's friends begin to speak more forcefully, and the tension escalates. Bildad and Zophar insist that Job must have done something to deserve his suffering—a perspective we know is incomplete.
What's powerful here is watching Job refuse to accept their theology. He knows his own heart. He knows he hasn't abandoned God, even though God feels far away. This is the tension between what we know to be true and what we feel.
The Heartbeat: Job demonstrates something crucial—faith isn't about pretending everything makes sense. Sometimes faith is simply refusing to let go of God even when He feels absent.

Welcome to Day 005 Job 6-9, where we continue our journey through the earliest chapters of human history. Today, we are sitting with Job in the midst of his deepest pain as he responds to his friends and cries out to God. The Timeline: Why are we in Job?
You might notice that we’ve taken a shift from Genesis into the Book of Job today. Because Heart Dive 365 follows a Chronological Bible Reading Plan, we are reading the books in the order that the events actually occurred in history, rather than the order they appear in a standard Bible.
While the standard Bible is organized by "type" (Law, History, Poetry, etc.), a chronological approach helps us see the "full picture" of God's redemptive story as it unfolded. Most scholars believe Job was a contemporary of Abraham because his wealth was measured in livestock, he lived over 200 years, and there is no mention of the Mosaic Law or the Tabernacle—placing him squarely in the patriarchal era of Genesis.
