Day 068 Numbers 33-34
Welcome to Day 068. Moses records the entire journey and includes all forty-two stops from Egypt to the edge of Canaan. Succoth, the Red Sea, Mount Sinai, the wilderness, and Kadesh with every significant place documented.
Why? Because God wants them to remember. To see the journey clearly. To recognize that they made it this far because of His faithfulness.
The record shows something interesting because only five and a half chapters cover the thirty-eight years of wilderness wandering. But forty chapters covered the single year at Mount Sinai. Why? Because the wilderness years were spiritually unproductive. There was movement but no progress. The Israelites existed, but they weren't really living.
Then God defines the boundaries of the Promised Land precisely. Every border is marked. Every tribe will receive its portion by lot.
God also warns them to drive out all the inhabitants and destroy their idols. If you don't, those who remain will be thorns in your side. They'll lead you away from God.
The Heartbeat: God remembers our journey and wants us to remember it too. Remembering His faithfulness strengthens us. His purposes are clear and defined. He doesn't leave us guessing about what He wants.
Heart-Check: What significant places in your spiritual journey have you forgotten? What would it mean to remember them?
