Day 066 Numbers 28-30
Welcome to Day 066. God gives detailed instructions for the sacrifices inlcuding the daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal offerings and festivals. It might seem repetitive and tedious, but there's a point.
God is a God of rhythm. He designed us to function with rhythm. Our hearts beat rhythmically. We breathe rhythmically. The seasons change rhythmically. And our faith deepens through rhythmic practice.
Every single day, Israel brought an offering. Every week, they made sacrifices. Every month, they gathered. Every season, they celebrated. This rhythm kept them connected to God. It prevented spiritual drift.
God also addresses vows and promises. When you make a vow to God, you keep it. Your word matters. It reveals your character.
For women under the authority of a father or husband, there are specific rules about vows. But for divorced or widowed women, their vows stand. They're accountable for their own words.
The Heartbeat: God is orderly and consistent. When we establish rhythm in our spiritual lives, like daily prayer, weekly worship, and regular celebration, we stay connected to Him. Our words carry weight. Keeping our promises matters.
Heart-Check: What rhythm do you have in your relationship with God? Is it consistent enough to deepen your faith?
