Do you have your favorite blanket that you love snuggling up with on a chilly morning with your cup of coffee or tea and devotions? I do!

I’ve always had a blanket that I favored over others. But God has given us his Son to be our ultimate and forever Comforter.

Isaiah 9:6 tells us of the birth of our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, the One who was given as a sacrifice to save us from all our sins. He justifies us freely and forever.

There isn’t anything we can do, nor is there anything expected from us for His justification. Jesus, the perfect, sinless Lamb of God, took all our sins away.

He gives us complete peace to live this life and confidently rest in Him.

Confidence means we can, by faith, be assured that He has come to save and protect us, and we can trust in Him and His promises.

In the New Testament, the book of Romans, we read about the prophecy of justification through Jesus—we were all born sinners by one man’s sin. But by one Man’s death on the cross, we have been set free—Grace has redeemed us!

So the next time you cozy up with your favorite blanket, lift a prayer of thanksgiving to the Holy ‘Comforter’ (see what I did there), giving Him thanks that He gave His life to save us from our life of sin and condemnation to one to be lived in confident righteousness.

Heart Checks:

Where do you turn for comfort?

Do you have peace when the storms are surrounding you?

Have you seeked the ULTIMATE comforter for peace and justification?
